REEF RELIEF ANNOUNCES FIVE DAY CLEANUP

Reef Relief is excited to announce the second Key Haven Boat Ramp cleanup in collaboration with Ocean Aid 360 and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The cleanup will take place on weekdays only, December 4-6 and 9-10. Every day is 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. Volunteers are not required to participate all five days.

Last September this cleanup was an incredible success. Volunteers helped collect 10,410 pounds of ocean plastics and litter from the surrounding areas in just three days. Just like last year, the cleanup area is extensive and contains a significant number of ocean-bound debris, so it is all hands-on deck. Volunteers will meet each morning at Beach Weekend Marina on Stock Island before 8:00 AM to get checked in and collect supplies. Volunteers do not need to attend all five days but will receive a raffle ticket for each day attended. Lunch and beverages will be provided daily. It is recommended to bring a reusable water bottle, ocean friendly sun protection, and wear closed toed shoes and clothes suitable for climbing in the mangroves.

It is recommended to pre-register ahead of time with http://tiny.cc/KeyHaven or on www.reefrelief.org so that there is enough supplies and food available.
