Reckless driver arrested in stolen car

A 35-year-old Stuart, Florida woman driving recklessly in a stolen car on U.S. 1 Monday was arrested.

Mia Kathleen Almeroth was charged with DUI, grand theft of a motor vehicle, theft, and resisting arrest.

The Sheriff’s Office received reports of a reckless driver near Mile Marker 71 at approximately 10:12 a.m. Almeroth was the driver and sole occupant of a Ford sedan reported stolen from Aventura, Florida. There were open alcoholic containers in the vehicle. A vape pen reported stolen from a gas station near Key Colony Beach was also found in the vehicle. Almeroth refused to follow commands during the subsequent investigation.
