Package of suspected marijuana found on Geiger Key

A package of suspected marijuana was found on Boca Chica Beach Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Christian Deen responded to Boca Chica Road at approximately 12:57 p.m. where a beachgoer showed her a package wrapped in brown duct tape containing a green, leafy substance.

The U.S. Border Patrol arrived and took possession of the package.

The package’s weight was not immediately clear.
