OneBlood Sends Nearly 300 Units of Blood to Texas Increase in Local Donations Urgently Needed

(Orlando, Florida – August 29, 2017)  A second shipment of blood is on its way to Texas from OneBlood.  The local not-for-profit blood center serving the southeastern United States has sent nearly 300 units of blood in the past two days and will continue to supply blood to the Lone Star state until further notice. (Pictures of today’s shipment of blood are attached).

Rising flood waters and massive destruction is preventing blood centers in Texas from being able to collect blood.  To ensure enough blood is available locally and for Texas, OneBlood is urging all eligible donors to donate blood as soon as possible. While all blood types are needed, there is an urgent call for O negative and O positive blood, as well as platelets and plasma donations.
