One of County’s Most Wanted in Custody
One of Monroe County’s most wanted criminals is now in custody, thanks to a joint effort by the Key West Police Special Investigation Unit the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the United States Marshal Service, the Department of Homeland Security and the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
In 2013, Yosbel Flores-Rodriguez, now 40, was arrested for conspiracy to traffic in illegal drugs, including opioids. He failed to appear in court. As a result, a warrant was issued with a $10 million bond.
Flores-Rodriguez’s last known address was in Miami. However, the joint detective work led investigators to Merida, Mexico. On March 12th, he was apprehended and deported back to the United States where he is being held under that $10 million bond.
