OCEAN REEF COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS $10,000 TO AUTISM SOCIETY OF THE KEYS

Marathon, FL (May 1, 2017) – The Autism Society of the Keys (ASK), a 501c3 organization, founded by Jill and Craig Campbell of Tavernier, Florida, recently received a $10,000 grant from Ocean Reef Community Foundation to provide specially programmed iPads to children diagnosed with autism who live in the Upper Keys.

Autism is a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges and is the fastest-growing developmental disability today. One in 68 children is affected by autism. It is four to five times more likely to occur in boys.

2017 workshops will be held at the following locations from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.:

Workshops provide information about resources and programs available to local participants. No reservations necessary. Refreshments served. If your family is affected by autism or you know someone who may benefit from this information, please attend one or more of these workshops.

The Autism Society of the Keys’ mission is to help families affected by autism and to reassure parents that there is HOPE. ASK can help financially with insurance co-pays and deductibles, transportation needs to doctor visits, specially equipped car seats, swim lessons, support groups and many other needs.
