New Beginnings: Graduation Ceremony for Key West’s Law Enforcement Class #90

The College of the Florida Keys Basic Law Enforcement Academy on Friday graduated the most recent class of new officers at the Tennessee Williams Fine Arts Center. Among those in Class #90 were nine recruits sponsored by the Key West Police Department:  JohnAsia Harris, Madilyn Flores, Bryce Sonnichsen, Eliot Sharp, Dan Wright, Jeremiah Osborne, Cody Floryance, Adam Lashley, and Russell Holmes.

“I want to congratulate each of you for the hard and sometimes grueling effort to get to this point tonight,” said Key West Police Chief Sean Brandenburg in his address to the new officers.  “This is the beginning of a challenging and rewarding career. Your role is to protect and serve, and one of our most important duties as law enforcement officers is to earn and maintain the public’s trust and confidence.”

Sheriff Rick Ramsay welcomed nine new deputies and delivered the closing remarks of the ceremony. Key West Police Officer Cameron Ua delivered the graduation address, and local musician Marshall Morlock performed the National Anthem on electric guitar.
