NaNoWriMo Kicks Off at FKCC
“Superpowered Noveling” during National Novel Writing Month
KEY WEST, FL, October 31, 2017— Florida Keys Community College invites aspiring novelists in the community to participate in “NaNoWriMo,” short for National Novel Writing Month this November. The College’s Library is an officially designated “Come Write In Spot” for the nationwide event. One part writing boot camp, one part party, NaNoWriMo participants commit to writing 50,000 words in the 30 days of November. Throughout the month, they’ll be guided by this year’s theme: “Superpowered Noveling.”
NaNoWriMo is celebrating its 19th year of encouraging creativity, education, and the power of the imagination through the largest writing event in the world. This year, NaNoWriMo expects over 400,000 people to start a 50,000-word novel during November.
FKCC’s NaNoWriMo novelists will meet on Mondays in November from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the College’s Writing Center. Participants should sign up atwww.nanowrimo.org and join the Key West region.
