Mucarsel-Powell to Continue District Tour in the Keys Focusing on Energy, Environment & Economy
KEY WEST, FL—On Wednesday, August 21, U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL-26), member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, will tour the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Key West and meet with Capt. Adam Chamie, the new Commanding Officer of Sector Key West. Mucarsel-Powell’s bipartisan legislation to help reduce and better manage the serious maintenance backlog for Coast Guard shore infrastructure passed through the House in July as part of the reauthorization of the Coast Guard. After, she will tour the Utility Board of the City of Key West and hold a Q&A with employees. Later in the day, Mucarsel-Powell will have lunch at the Thirsty Mermaid to hear from locals and fishermen. Mucarsel-Powell is an advocate for small businesses and workers, fighting for fair pay and discrimination-free work places.
