Anna Mott, Key West High School senior, was recently named as a finalist in the Leaders 4 Life program. Out of 100 submissions she finished in the top 12.
The Leaders 4 Life program is set in place to help Take Stock in Children scholars. Leaders 4 Life is helping these scholars be successful in a university by providing them with necessary tools and resources. The winning scholars have also shown strong leadership skills and academic success.
By finishing in the top 12, Mott was awarded education funding up to $10,000 per year, leadership training, professional development, and she also received a laptop.
Mott, who was born in Key West, has a long history of activism with her school. She participates in the Academic Challenge team, the French Club, and the Executive Board as senior treasurer. She is also an Advanced Placement scholar with honors. Mott plans to attend college and study forensic pathology.
Along with being an outstanding student, Mott has also been recognized for her exceptional work in Ed Smith’s TV Production class. She received first place in the Palm Beach International Film Festival student Public Service Announcement category. Mott also had three film selections for the All-American High School Film Festival.
An attitude of service compliments her strong leadership skills. Mott notes, “I am always there for people and always offering help. If someone needs help, I am the first to step up.” This makes her a perfect example of a Leaders 4 Life Talk Stock in Children scholar.
It is obvious that Mott is going far in life. With her academic achievement, her leadership skills, and her compassion for others, she has all the tools to make a difference in the world.
