Mote Hosts 2nd Annual ‘Tours for Toys’ at Summerland Key Facility on Thursday, December 1st from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Mote Marine Laboratory is once again teaming up with local Toys for Tots organizers to help give back this Holiday season.  Last year, with the help from our community Mote donated dozens of toys from our inaugural ‘Toys for Tours’ event. Over 6,000 toys were distributed to nearly 2,000 children in our community by our local Toys for Tots organizers in 2021.

This year, Mote is hosting this event at all three of our land-based nursery locations in Summerland Key, Islamorada and Key Largo.  When you bring a new, unwrapped toy to one of our locations during designated dates/times, you will receive an exclusive behind the scenes tour in return. Tours will start at the top of each hour during the designated times at each location and are free to the public (with a toy.)  The dates and times are as follows:

Tuesday, November 29 at Mote’s Islamorada Coral Nursery at Bud ‘n Mary’s Marina (79851 Overseas Hwy) from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Wednesday, November 30 at Mote’s Key Largo Nursery at Reefhouse Resort and Marina (103800 Overseas Hwy)  from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

This is a great way to see science-based coral restoration from the world’s leading scientists AND give back to the community at the same time.  Tours for Toys is a family-friendly event and the entire community is invited to attend at the location closest to them. Again, during the days above, tours will start at the top of each hour.
