MONROE COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES TO HOST FREE ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County Social Services is hosting four free Alzheimer’s Association educational programs throughout the Florida Keys. Each program is open to the public.
- Thursday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. at Monroe County Social Services, Tradewinds Plaza, 101491 Overseas Hwy., Suite 4, Key Largo.
- Thursday, Feb. 20 at 12:30 p.m. at Marathon Senior Center, 535 33rd Street.
- Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Klaus Murphy Center, 1010 Windsor Lane, Key West.
- Friday, Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Big Pine Key Senior Center, 380 Key Deer Blvd.

Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause changes in memory, thinking, and behavior that interfere with daily life. The hour-long program will cover the 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others.

- How to approach someone about memory concerns.
- Early detection, the benefits of a diagnosis and the diagnostic process.
- Alzheimer’s Association resources.
“Anyone interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s Disease or who may be concerned about themselves or a loved one should definitely attend,” said Sheryl Graham, Monroe County Director of Social Services.
