MONROE COUNTY PARKS AND REC BOARD TO MEET MONDAY AT 6 P.M. IN PERSON AND VIA ZOOM
MONROE COUNTY, FL – The Monroe County Parks and Rec Board will meet on Monday, July 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bernstein Park Community Meeting Room, 6751 5th Street, Stock Island. The community is invited to attend the meeting in person or via Zoom.
There will be an update from Project Management Director Cary Knight on Parks and Beaches construction projects, the most recent grant awards that impact parks, and plans for Veterans Memorial Park near the 7 Mile Bridge.
Parks & Beaches Director John Allen will update the board on proposed ordinances that may restrict dogs from the baseball fields and children’s areas at parks, the House Bill Smoking Ban passed by the State of Florida, the Harry Harris Park area parking app, and updates on the Pine Channel Nature Park opening in mid-to-late August. Allen will also discuss paddleboard kiosks and kayak concessions at several parks, in addition to entertaining public comments.
