MONROE COUNTY INVITES MEDIA TO TENETIVELY SCHEDULED TINY HOME ARRIVAL IN KEY LARGO

KEY LARGO, FL – Monroe County would like the media to save Wednesday, March 18 around noon as a tentative date for the arrival of Monroe County’s first tiny in its pilot project. The house will be located at 41 Judy Place on Key Largo. The tiny home is expected to arrive earlier that week and if there are no issues, media will have confirmation on Tuesday, March 17 by 5 p.m. for the Wednesday site visit. Administration and Monroe County Board of County Commissioners plan to be at the site that day if the tiny home is delivered and set on its footer.

The pilot project is one of two planned homes the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners approved to serve as code-compliant models for residents who are rebuilding after losing their homes during Hurricane Irma. They are especially a good type of structure for replacements to mobile homes.

The home, after hooked up to utilities and inspections are finalized, will be open to public to view. The model home is one bedroom and one bathroom, a little less than 400 square feet, code compliant, and starts at $85,000.
