MONROE COUNTY HOLDING THREE PUBLIC MEETINGS: INPUT WILL HELP SHAPE NEW STRATEGIC PLAN

MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County has begun to craft its 2018-2023 Strategic Plan, which will update its current plan. The new Strategic Plan will guide the County’s future policy and budget decisions.

The first important step in this process is to hear directly from the County’s citizens. What are your priorities, concerns and vision for the future of the County? What issues and infrastructure would you like to see your County government tackle in the next few years?

To obtain this vital input, the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners is hosting a series of three community meetings that are open to the public. At the meetings, Monroe County Administrator Roman Gastesi will provide a State of the County update – and County Commissioners and County staff will be available to answer your questions.

The schedule:

Upper Keys: Tuesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the Murray Nelson Government and Cultural Center, 102050 Overseas Highway, Key Largo

Lower Keys: Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at Harvey Government Center, 1200 Truman Avenue, Key West

Middle Keys: Monday, April 10 at 6 p.m. at the Marathon Government Center, 2798 Overseas Highway, Marathon

At these meetings, the public will be able to fill out a residential and/or business survey about County government that also will help shape the new Strategic Plan. These surveys also are available on line on the homepage of the County website: www.monroecounty-fl.gov.

“We look forward to hearing from the community,” Gastesi said. “These meetings will enable us to garner a current understanding of the public’s issues, needs and priorities.”
