Monroe County Holding Public Meeting in Key West To Craft Strategic Plan

When: Thursday, March 23, 2017, 6 p.m.

Where: Harvey Government Center, 1200 Truman Avenue

MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County has begun to craft its 2018-2023 Strategic Plan, which will update its current plan. The new Strategic Plan will guide the County’s future policy and budget decisions.

The first important step in this process is to hear directly from the County’s citizens. What are your priorities, concerns and vision for the future of the County? What issues and infrastructure would you like to see your County government tackle in the next few years?

To obtain this vital input, the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners is hosting a public meeting in Key West. At the meeting, Monroe County Administrator Roman Gastesi will provide a State of the County update – and County Commissioners and County staff will be available to answer your questions.

The County already has held a similar public meeting in the Upper Keys. A third meeting is scheduled for the Middle Keys on Monday, April 10, at 6 p.m. at the Marathon Government Center, 2798 Overseas Highway, Marathon.

At these meetings, the public will be able to fill out a residential and/or business survey about County government that also will help shape the new Strategic Plan. These surveys also are available on line on the homepage of the County website: www.monroecounty-fl.gov.
