Monroe County Fire Rescue: Herve Thomas Funeral Services

It is with deepest regret and sorrow that Monroe County Fire Rescue announces the line-of-duty death of Firefighter Hervé Thomas IAFF 12th District Local 3909 Monroe County Fire Rescue. Firefighter Hervé Thomas of Big Pine Key died unexpectedly while on duty at Station 8 on Stock Island on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He served the residents and visitors of Monroe County since 2009, and his presence will be greatly missed. In everything he did, he did it to help others. We stand strong and united during this period of grief and lend support to each other unconditionally.

Firefighter Hervé Thomas leaves behind his wife, Nicole, and daughter, Naima, 14. He was very active in the Big Pine Key community and was especially vigilant in the recovery efforts in the area after Hurricane Irma. The service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1100 at:

Followed by a procession passing Station 8 and leading to the Celebration of Life that will be held at:

Bernstein Park

6751 5th Street

Stock Island, FL 33040
