BIG PINE KEY, FL – Billie Nichols, resident of Big Pine Key, extended her gratitude to Monroe County Fire Rescue Station 13’s C shift crew for responding to her unique emergency situation last Thursday. She was pet sitting her daughter’s dogs, Bubba, 14, and Bella, 12, and while loading them in her car, one of them inadvertently locked the car doors.
“The crew was very professional, friendly, and eager to assist,” she said.
In coordination with MCSO and Anchor Towing, their quick action allowed the dogs to be rescued within minutes. Leaving animals or children in a car for any length of time can lead to a serious situation.
