Monroe Computes Distributes Awards at HOB School
KEY WEST — Horace O’Bryant School students Savannah Oropeza and Garrett Knott are the latest recipients of Monroe Computes financial awards. Oropeza, a 6th grader, earned $50 for completing part one of a four part Internet Computing Core (IC3) Certification. The new program is specifically designed to build a solid foundation in digital concepts, while promoting internet safety and responsibility for primary and middle school age children. Knott, an 8th grader, completed a Microsoft Office certification, which earned him $200 from Monroe Computes and three college credits. To date, Monroe Computes has contributed over $75,000 in financial incentives to over 500 MCSD students for earning computer industry certifications.
