The Monroe County School District awarded the distinguished Community Partner Great Educational Moments for Students (GEMS) Award to the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys (CFFK) in appreciation for the support they have given to our schools. Most recently, CFFK issued eight $2,500 grants, for a total of $17,500, to K-5 and K-8 public Monroe County schools to aid students in need, recognizing that many families were dealing with hardships due to COVID. The funds were awarded from CFFK’s Florida Keys Emergency Relief Fund to allow schools to purchase clothing, food, supplies and holiday gifts for young students at risk. CFFK is a non-profit organization that has been helping individuals and families countywide for 25 years, providing grants in many areas to benefit the residents of the Florida Keys.
