Man who fled in speeding box truck arrested
A 22-year-old Lakeland, Florida man was arrested Wednesday night after he failed to stop for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officers and Deputies.
Dominic Jae’von Carlisle was charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding and possession of marijuana.
There were no reported injuries.
The FWC notified the Sheriff’s Office at 10:46 p.m. they were northbound on the Seven Mile Bridge behind a box truck that they attempted to stop for speeding — 65 mph in a 55 mph zone — at Mile Marker 35.
Deputy Corbin Hradecky deployed Stinger spikes at Knights Key Boulevard, successfully deflating several tires on the box truck. The box truck stopped at Mile Marker 47.5.
The box truck smelled of marijuana as did the driver, identified as Carlisle.
Carlisle stated he saw the blue lights, but he added he didn’t believe they were law enforcement, so he didn’t stop.
Carlisle was taken to jail.
