Man wanted for murder arrested while exiting plane at Key West International Airport
A 48-year-old Arkansas man wanted for murder was arrested by Sheriff’s Office Deputies as he was exiting an airplane that had just arrived at Key West International Airport on Monday.
Airport Deputies Sonya Morgan and David Cruz arrested Shawn Cone at approximately 11:45 a.m. as he was exiting a flight from Miami to Key West.
Cone was taken to the Lower Keys Detention Center on Stock Island. He will be returned to Arkansas to face charges in the murder of 50-year-old Alissa Reynolds, who found dead Sunday in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Jonesboro Police contacted U.S. Customs and Border Protection with information that Cone may be headed to Key West. The CBP then notified the Sheriff’s Office and American Airlines. American Airlines confirmed to the Sheriff’s Office that Cone was on the plane and provided his seat number. Cone was arrested promptly as he exited the stairs of the plane.
Airport Sgt. Vicki Lockwood notified Jonesboro Police that the Sheriff’s Office had Cone in custody. Cone had a credit card with Reynolds’ name on it as well as $3,000 cash in his possession.
Cone was taken to jail.
