Man dies following Upper Keys water incident  

A 72-year-old South Easton, Massachusetts man died Wednesday after he was pulled from the water on Alligator Reef off Islamorada.

Mark J. Gosciminski was pronounced dead at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier.

Gosciminski was attempting to swim to a vessel at approximately 9:45 a.m. when he reportedly began to struggle. The U.S. Coast Guard responded as well as a U.S. Navy helicopter, which flew Gosciminski to the hospital.

There were no signs of foul play.

Autopsy results are pending.
