Man cited for illegal fish

A 48-year-old Miami man was given a mandatory notice to appear in court citation Sunday afternoon for harvesting undersized snappers.

Deputy Ana Coello was on patrol at Tea Table Bridge at Mile Marker 79 in Islamorada when she saw two people fishing. Neither had a fishing license or a measuring device.

They had had five mangrove snapper, three of which were under the 10-inch legal size limit.

Lazaro Molina Villar was cited.

The fish were returned to the water dead.
