Man cited for illegal fish

A 50-year-old Miami, Florida man was given a mandatory notice to appear in court citation Thursday for possessing one undersized mangrove snapper and one undersized schoolmaster snapper.

Islamorada Marine Deputies Nelson Sanchez and Jason Farr were conducting resource checks at the Indian Key Fill boat ramp area at approximately 9:50 a.m. when they found Antonio Humberto Vento Arbeg in possession of the illegal fish.

Man arrested for vehicle burglary  

A 35-year-old Tavernier, Florida man was arrested on multiple charges following a vehicle burglary in Key Largo earlier this year.

Brandon Areno Shelby was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, unlawful possession of another person’s personal identification, unlawful possession of a stolen credit card, unlawful use of a stolen credit card, fraud, and petit theft.

Shelby broke into a vehicle on the 99000 block of the Overseas Highway in April 2024. A wallet containing more than $600 in cash and credit cards was taken.

Warrants were obtained for Shelby’s arrest following an investigation and he was booked into jail on Thursday.
