Man cited for illegal fish

A 38-year-old Miami man was given a mandatory notice to appear in court citation Sunday for possessing undersized and over-the-limit mangrove snapper.

Marine Deputy Willie Guerra was on a patrol near the Vaca Cut Bridge in Marathon when he observed a man fishing under the bridge, identified as Dimitry Perez Oduardo.

He was in possession of 16 mangrove snappers with six measuring under the 10-inch limit. Florida law allows only five mangrove snapper per harvester.
