Man charged with burglary

A 60-year-old Marathon, Florida man was arrested Friday for burglarizing a business.

Dennis Joseph Boyer was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to the 4600 block of the Overseas Highway at approximately 12:30 a.m. regarding a burglary in process. A witness reported Boyer was breaking into the business and he was found shortly thereafter on a bicycle near the scene and detained after attempting to flee.

Boyer damaged the building during the burglary. He was taken to jail.
