Man arrested in stolen gun case

An 18-year-old Key Largo man was arrested Friday following an investigation into a vehicle burglary.

Malachai Alexander Holcomb was charged with burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and dealing in stolen property, among other charges.

The Sheriff’s Office was notified of the burglary in June 2022 in Tavernier. A .357-caliber revolver and $500 cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

The ensuing investigation led Detectives to Holcomb. He was arrested Friday.

The investigation remains ongoing.
