Man arrested in Marathon stabbing
A 19-year-old Marathon man was arrested Tuesday night for stabbing another man four times.
Adoriam James Stewart-Williams was charged with aggravated battery.
Deputy Victor Morales and multipole other deputies and detectives were called to the 100 block of 42nd Street at 6:24 p.m. regarding a fight, in which the caller said he was involved and possibly stabbed someone. Deputy Morales made contact with the caller, Stewart-Williams, upon arrival. Stewart-Williams had gravel on his back and multiple scratches on his arms and legs. Stewart-Williams stated a man named “Lorenzo” jumped out of truck and told him they were going to fight against his wishes. Stewart-Williams said that at some point he pulled out of knife to “end the fight.” A witness told Deputy Morales he witnessed both men fight and Stewart-Williams pulled out a knife.
While on the scne, Deputies were informed that a man named Lorenzo James Natta, 22, of Homestead, arrived at Fishermen’s Hospital with four stab wounds. One stab wound was to the left shoulder and three others were to his back-kidney area. Medical staff advised Natta was to be airlifted to Miami for further medical treatment. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
Detective Sgt. Trevor Wirth spoke with Natta’s brother, who witnessed the fight. The brother stated he arrived to see Stewart-Williams stab Natta, so he ran up and removed the knife that was still embedded in Natta’s back. The brother said he secured the knife and separated the two men.
Meanwhile, Deputy Garrett Bragg obtained video surveillance across the street of the fight. The residents showed Deputy Bragg the video. The video showed both Stewart-Williams and the first witness standing in a parking lot at 208 41st Street. The video showed Natta approaching them from the south as Stewart-Williams puts up his fists, whilst Natta continued to approach at a fast pace. Both appear to get in each other’s faces while exchanging words, but no punches are thrown. Stewart-Williams begins to walk away, heading south, when Natta runs up and punches Stewart-Williams from behind. Natta then grabs Stewart-Williams and body slams him. People in the area quickly pull Natta off Stewart-Williams. Stewart-Williams then jumps up and takes off his shirt. Stewart-Williams then runs at Natta, re-initiating the fight. Both men go the ground when people again intervene. Both men get up, but Natta’s shirt was bloody.
Stewart-Williams left, walking toward 42nd Street where he was detained.
Stewart-Williams was taken to jail.
The incident remains under investigation.
