Man arrested for sexual assault

A 28-year-old, Big Pine Key man was arrested for sexual assault Friday.

Juan Miguel Matias Andres was charged with sexual assault in which the defendant is older than 18 and the victim is older than 12, but younger than 18.

The victim in the case is 15-years-old.

The Sheriff’s Office was notified by health care workers who had interacted with the girl.

Matias Andres later admitted to Sheriff’s Office Detectives to having sex with the girl.

A warrant was issued for Matias Andres’ arrest.

Matias Andres’ was booked into jail Friday.
