Man arrested for murder

A 37-year-old homeless Marathon, Florida man was arrested Saturday for beating up another homeless man at Marathon Community Park who later died at Fishermen’s Hospital.

Lee Charles Quinn was charged with the murder of 54-year-old William Claude Prichett, also of Marathon, Florida.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to the park at approximately 4 p.m. regarding a fight. Multiple homeless people and witnesses stated Quinn attacked Prichett with his fists during a verbal argument. Prichett fell to the ground and Quinn continued to punch him, the witnesses stated. One adult male homeless witness who intervened was also struck by Quinn but was not seriously injured.

Prichett was taken to the hospital where he later died. The Sheriff’s Office found, detained, and charged Quinn shortly after the incident.
