Man arrested for knife threats

A 59-year-old Key West man was arrested Saturday after threatening another man with a knife. There were no serious injuries reported.

Thomas Cory Schry was charged with aggravated assault and battery.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to Coconuts Bar & Liquor Store on Big Pine Key at approximately 6:23 p.m. regarding a fight. The 29-year-old victim stated the suspect, later identified as Schry, approached him asking for money, which he declined. Schry knocked a cell phone from the victim’s hands, punched him in the face, pushed him against a door, and displayed a knife while threatening to stab him.

Schry then left on a bicycle. He was stopped on U.S. 1 shortly thereafter. A multi-tool with a knife was found in his possession.
