Man arrested for illegal firearm possession

A 21-year-old Naples, Florida man was arrested Wednesday for illegally possessing a concealed weapon following a traffic stop.

Alberto Derisme was charged with possessing a concealed weapon without a license, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Deputy Cristian Santos was at Mile Marker 100 at approximately 10 p.m. when a gray vehicle was recorded traveling 66 mph in a 45 mph zone. Deputy Santos performed a traffic stop and detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Derisme stated he did not have a medical marijuana card. Derisme stated there was a gun in the vehicle. Derisme did not have a concealed carry permit.

A loaded Glock was found between the driver seat and center console. About 18.5 grams of marijuana was also found in the vehicle.

Derisme was taken to jail.
