Man arrested for illegal dumping
A 65-year-old Big Pine Key, Florida man was arrested Friday for leaving more than 10,000 pounds of trash on the side of the road.
Benjamin Scott Holroyd was charged with felony illegal dumping.
The Sheriff’s Office began investigating this month after a large pile of debris and trash was left on 18th Lane. Information leading to Holroyd was found during the subsequent investigation. Holroyd admitted he was the person who first began dumping trash in the area.
Monroe County Solid Waste workers removed a total of 10,380 pounds of garbage and debris from the scene.

Wanted man arrested on drug charges following traffic stop
A 31-year-old Miami-Dade County, Florida man wanted for theft was arrested Saturday on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop on U.S. 1.
Jeremy Patrick Anderson was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine, possession of amphetamines, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and possessing a controlled substance while operating a motor vehicle.
Anderson was stopped in a northbound Toyota Camry near Mile Marker 49 at approximately 4:10 a.m. for tag violations. An open beer container was in plain view. The odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle.
The following were found: Two rocks containing methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl, baggies laced with cocaine and methamphetamine, and glass pipes.
Anderson also had two out-of-county warrants for theft. He was taken to jail.
