Man arrested for drugs

A 70-year-old Wildwood, Florida man was arrested following a traffic stop on U.S. 1 Friday for possessing approximately a half ounce of cocaine.

Guadalupe Aponte was charged with cocaine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aponte was stopped near Mile Marker 89 for no tail lights at approximately 9:41 p.m. There was an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

The cocaine as well as a digital scale, baggies, a THC vape pen, a strainer with cocaine residue, a grinder and related paraphernalia containing marijuana residue, and rolling papers, were among the items found.
