Man arrested for burglary

A 46-year-old Key Largo man was arrested Friday after forcing his way into a residence.

Edward Jack Burke was charged with burglary with a battery.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to Campers Cover RV Park at approximately 10:40 a.m. They found the 20-year-old male victim who stated Burke arrived at the residence looking for a family member and demanding to be let in. The victim stated Burke forced his way inside and hit him. The victim grabbed a knife for protection and a physical altercation ensued. There were no life-threatening injuries reported. The minor injuries to the victim corroborated his story.

Burke was found at his residence shortly thereafter. He confessed and was taken to jail.
