Man arrested for battery/theft

A 62-year-old Key Largo, Florida man was arrested Friday after hitting another man and stealing a pint of vodka. There were no life-threatening injuries reported.

Billy Ambrose Costner was charged with battery and theft.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to the 99600 block of the Overseas Highway at approximately 3:57 p.m. regarding a fight. Witnesses reported Costner punched a 41-year-old male victim multiple times in the face and fled the area with a pint of vodka he stole from a 45-year-old female victim.

Costner was subsequently found nearby and taken to jail.
