Man arrested for armed robbery

A 22-year-old Marathon man with a lengthy arrest history already in jail for violating probation was further charged Friday in the armed robbery of a man in January.

Thomas Andrew Lancaster was charged with battery, kidnapping and robbery with a deadly weapon — a knife.

The incident occurred on Jan. 17, 2019 on the 7700 block of Aviation Boulevard and has been under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office since that time. There were no serious injuries in the incident.

The victim stated Lancaster and another man — the codefendant who remains at large — came into his camper brandishing a knife. Lancaster kicked one of the women in the stomach and demanded money from the male victim. The victim gave him $90 and told him he had more money outside in his vehicle. A struggle ensued outside in which the victim was cut on the hand with the knife. Lancaster and other assailant then fled the scene.

Lancaster had his face covered with a T-shirt, but the victim recognized him regardless. The victims identified Lancaster and the other man in a photo lineup thereafter.

Lancaster remains in jail under no bail. The case remains ongoing and more arrests may be pending.

Lancaster has an arrest history that includes theft of a firearm, robbery and drug-related offenses among others.
