A 20-year-old St. Louis, Missouri man was arrested early Monday morning after starting a ruckus at a Marathon tavern and threatening to shoot up the establishment.

Jacob Dylan Holtz was charged with assault, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and possessing a fake driver’s license or ID.

There were no firearms found in his possession.

Deputies Anfernee Rodriguez, Nerelys Vidal and Corbin Hradecky responded to the Brass Monkey bar at 3:50 a.m. regarding a man making threats. The suspect, later identified as Holtz, was found outside the bar. Witnesses stated Holtz had been removed from the bar earlier for fighting other patrons — At one point yelling, “You ****** with the wrong St. Louis boy!

Witnesses stated Holtz continued to attempt to fight multiple other patrons and continued to reenter the business after being told to leave. Holtz eventually told the bartender he was going to “shoot up the bar.”

There were no serious injuries reported at the business.

Holtz was combative with Deputies outside the bar. Holtz spit on Deputies multiple times, shouted obscenities and refused to stand up and enter a patrol car. Holtz’s violent behavior in the patrol car continued when he cut his head open whilst banging it against a plastic partition.

Holtz was taken to Fishermen’s Hospital in Marathon, but he continued to resist by refusing to get out of the patrol car. Deputy Hradecky removed his Taser and held it directly against Holtz’s body, shocking Holtz with the Taser. Holtz then complied and exited the patrol. Holtz then dropped to his knees and refused to walk to the hospital entrance.

A fake driver’s license was found in Holtz’s possession, as well as a valid ID, which Deputies used to properly identify him.

Holtz was taken to jail thereafter.
