LETTER TO THE EDITOR / PROGRESSIVISM?
With all the talk about progressivism and women taking prominent positions in government, it isn’t entirely clear where men fit in that picture. We all saw women dressed in white who did their best to be contrary during President Trump’s State of the Union speech last Tuesday. The handful of males in that crowd seemed out of place and browbeaten. In a stark contrast to that imagery, we also recall the big brute who punched two women at a hotdog stand in Los Angeles.
So it becomes questionable as to whether women can demand equality but aren’t willing to suffer consequences for getting physically or verbally abusive of males. As the saying goes, you mess with the bull and you get the horns.
Perhaps Muslims understand that quandary and refuse to fall in the trap of women demanding more than they are able or willing to provide. Where males desire to command and women seek to control, who predominates?
Western civilization insists on equal rights but is increasingly failing to satisfy either side of the equation. Reining in ‘toxic masculinity’ at the expense of nature’s imperative of male domination seems to only bring rivalry instead of balance.
In the final analysis, the well established chain of command cannot be tossed out in favor of a distributive paradox. This isn’t a question of subjugation as much as harmony. Accusations of misogyny and male chauvinism lead to divorces and male emasculation. When women cannot lead but won’t follow brings disarray in the family nucleus as well as society.
Our servicemen coming back from deployment in patriarchal societies find it hard to regain the lead. The track record clearly demonstrates that men are unable to attain the role of held of household. Furthermore, our divorce laws that demand equal distribution further add salt to the wound to the
point that men find themselves stripped of their hard earned savings and respect of the family.

MISOGYNY, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & MERITOCRACY
PAUL, this is stunning to read in the 21st century.
Science and reality categorically reject what you call \”nature\’s imperative of male domination\”. Humanity and America are committed to equal opportunity and success based on merit – not gender, race, color, ethnicity, nationality, orientation or any other primitive excuse by the insecure. Individual women, and every other classification, have demonstrated excellence in virtually every field imaginable – which is a huge win for us all.
Like it or not, your so called \”well established chain of command\” now has the best and most diverse links in human history, and the only problem is that it should be more so.
You may find it disturbing, Paul, but fortunately the caveman days are long past.

“Individual women, and every other classification, have demonstrated excellence in virtually every field imaginable – which is a huge win for us all.”
Gosh if all successful women could just be like Margaret Thatcher or Golda Meir instead of Hilary, Ocasio or Sen Warren!
I did get a kick out of the SOTU dress up show on the Congressional floor.
• Initially, I thought it was a bunch of novitiate nuns as guests.
• Another option was Democrats surrendering by wearing white.
• Then the image of Greece’s “Vestal Virgins of Olympia” became an option.
Eventually the symbolism was explained to me and reality wasn’t as glamorous as my initial choices.
It is ironic that some of the same women who seek equality in the workplace and demand to be co-equals with men in military ranks do not readily accept the stern chain of command and requisite physical and emotional demands of the mission. They seldom seek to be accepted on merit alone…
It isn’t ‘equal opportunity’ for kids who come back from school to an empty house as both parents have to work to pay for housing. Parents are spinning wheels like gerbils without getting anywhere fast.
So when we see men walking behind their women like sheepish puppy dogs, that’s equality and western societal emancipation?
Furthermore, try walking downtown with your fly open. Women, on the other hand, are allowed to use their wares to trap you. What’s equal about that? At least in Scotland it’s fair game…
