Letter To Editor / PUTIN IS BOLD, BUT NOT BRAVE

Many thoughtful and well- meaning people fear Putin’s hints about nuclear weapons.  That is exactly what Putin wants because fear becomes the leverage he needs to get what he wants, and at almost no cost.  It’s called blackmail threats.

On the other hand we have convincing lessons from history, Churchill, Zelensky and Ukrainian courage.  We learn daily that bullies must be confronted today, or everyone pays a higher price tomorrow.  Only the most heinous dictators threaten massive death, and one definition of GENOCIDE is deliberately killing large numbers of people in another country, with the goal to destroy that country.  Sound familiar?  The Putin bully, liar and blackmailer is guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity – and he’s just begun his military campaign to recreate the soviet union.  

Only the US,  a united NATO and the democratic European Union can collectively stand up to this evil threat – and they can’t succeed by being Nervous Nellies.
