We evacuated to Scotland after diving to Atlanta to catch a plane and leaving our SUV. Our house on Big Torch had no damage unlike every other house in the area according to neighbors and the photographs they sent.

I built the house very strong and secured everything before we left including our boat that I chained & roped to big rings held with concrete in the ground. The boat had no damage and didn’t even loose it’s cover. The mangroves and road protected from a surge and we got only 4 inches of water.

We will be driving back from Atlanta soon and have power at the house but could sure use a list of things that are open or closed like gas stations on Bug Pine or the Winn Dixie on Big Pine.

I thought you might start a list of these things. I would be very useful to us and several friends who will be returning as well.

I am getting conflicting reports and rumors especially fuel.

Any updates list would be appreciated on your web.

I find your site to be informative for hyper local information and can access it from Scotland when I get WiFi.

Knowing you have a damaged house yourself, I commend you for informing your readers in this time of struggle for the lower keys.
