Learn How to Spot Subterranean Termites
The community is invited to a special session exploring an issue that is affecting too many trees in Key West: subterranean termites. These invasive, destructive insects are causing the island to lose many of our older canopy trees.
Dr. Thomas Chouvenac, Associate Professor of Urban Entomology at the University of Florida, will explain how to spot the signs of an infestation. He is the leading expert on the subject.
Dr. Chouvenc’s research on behavior, symbiosis, physiology and colony demography of termite has provided a new perspective on the complexity of insect societies and continues to improve our understanding of these pest species.
We hope the community will join us on Friday, November 8th at 9 a.m. at City Hall, 1300 White Street.
