Leadership Monroe County Class XXVIII Recruitment and
Reception July 11 at Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden
Leadership Monroe County, the educational non-profit community leadership
organization that facilitates relationships for constructive alliances among Florida
Keys leaders, invites the public and potential Leadership Class XXVIII members to
the Key West Botanical Garden & Tropical Forest on Thursday, July 11 from 5:30-
7:00pm for a social reception to meet the organization’s board and alumni, and
learn about this years program.
Attendee’s will learn about the planned 2019-20 series of sessions and the scope,
mission and benefits of becoming part of this countywide program. Subsequent
socials will be held at Crane Point in Marathon on July 19, and at Cheeca Lodge in
Islamorada, July 26.
Founded in 1992, the program is aimed at residents who are active in leadership
roles in the private sector, government, or nonprofit community. Through a
series of one and multi-day sessions, over a seven month period, topics
examined include the major industries of the Florida Keys, tourism and the
economy, environment and natural resources, the vital roles of government,
education, military, the law and judiciary, emergency management, arts and
culture, health care and human services, as well as leadership skill development.
