In an awards ceremony Friday hosted by the Grand Key Resort, Chief Sean Brandenburg named Denise Richardson Civilian Employee of the First Half.

Richardson joined the department in 2010 and serves as its payroll coordinator in personnel services.

Chief Brandenburg noted that she regularly comes in on her own time during the weekends to ensure payroll is completed and correct to ensure our members receive their proper pay. She coordinates with the city finance department and federal partners to ensure reimbursements are done properly.

During emergencies, including the pandemic and hurricanes, Richardson is tapped to keep detailed records to receive reimbursements.

“Denise comes to work every day with a smile on her face and is a pleasure to work with,” said Chief Brandenburg.
