Commissioners Monica Haskell and Lissette Carey, Mayor Danise “Deedee” Henriquez, Lt. John Torres, Vice Mayor Clayton Lopez, and Commissioners Sam Kaufman and Donie Lee. Commissioner Mary Lou Hoover was in attendance via Zoom.

The City of Key West and the City Commission this month recognized the Key West Fire Department’s Lt. John Torres for his 15 years of dedicated service to the community.

Lt. Torres started his career with the Key West Fire Department in 2009 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. He was promoted to his current rank of Driver/Engineer in 2019.

Lt. Torres currently serves as the President of the IAFF Local Bargaining Unit 1424.  He devotes countless dedicated hours and works hard for the men and women of 1424.  He is a State of Florida certified Paramedic along with several other State of Florida certifications. In addition, he is a member of the Key West Fire Department HAZMAT team.
