KWAHS Invites the Public to a Flash-Mob Style Valentine’s Day Recreation of “the Most Famous Kiss in American History” at the Custom House Museum

Key West Art & Historical Society invites locals and visitors to a flash-mob style, mass Kiss-In event on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14, starting at 5:30pm, in front of the 25 foot tall Seward Johnson “Embracing Peace” sculpture at the Custom House Museum at 281 Front Street.

The vision is to fill the street in front of the Museum on Valentine’s Day with a sea of couples emulating Johnson’s “Embracing Peace” sculpture, which was inspired by photographs of a sailor and nurse locked in an immortalized kiss in Times Square, New York, celebrating the end of World War II – an image that has been called the most famous kiss in American history.

Kiss-In participants are encouraged to arrive at 5:30, with the Kiss-In photo op to happen at exactly 6pm.
