KW Community Sailing Center Talk: The America’s Cup

At its Friday Evening Social on December 13th, Henry DeGroot, a winner of numerous Schooner Wharf Wreckers’ Races and many others, will give a brief update on the America’s Cup. The discussion will include the colorful and rich history of the America’s Cup, how the high technology of the Cup has benefited every sailor and how the next America’s Cup will return to the classic principles of sailing. This talk will include information and advice for anyone who is serious about sailing, innovative sailing technology and the directions in which the sport is headed. This talk is for beginning to experienced sailors as well as for those who just admire the beautiful boats. The Social begins at 6pm and the lecture at 6:30.
