Keys Choral Arts presents “A Choral Christmas Feast”
A “Choral Feast” will be served — meticulously prepared by the Keys Choral Arts — and available at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Key West on December 17, 2019 at 7 pm. Several modern and traditional “Courses” will be presented for willing ears to feed the holiday spirit. A reception featuring wine and small bites will follow the concert. Tickets are $30, and are available at eventbrite.com.
“A Choral Christmas Feast” will include songs of the season, both religious and secular, performed in the classic choral tradition accompanied by pianist Lou Ann Steely, and organist Tom Scheck.
Conducting the Keys Choral Arts is Timothy Peterson, who earned his Master’s of Music in piano performance with a concentration in the collaborative arts (which includes voice, piano, choral conducting, and accompaniment) from Syracuse University. He is also the director of music and the organist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Keys Choral Arts (KCA) is the reincarnation of the Keys Chorale, which was based at what is now the College of the Florida Keys. Peterson and several other members successfully transitioned the choir in November of 2018 into a new non-profit organization.
“Keys Choral Arts is a true community chorus for people who love to sing! We’re very excited to provide our community the very best in choral music, and for the first time will offer our own holiday concert as well as participating in the Eaton Street Stroll on December 8th,” says KCA Board President Paul Hayes. “This year we are proud to expand our offerings to include two full concerts, with one at the holidays and one in the Spring.”
