While most of the country retreats into the stillness of winter, Key West bursts to life with vibrant color, creativity, and inspiration. Join The Studios of Key West for their much-anticipated annual season kickoff with the Members’ Exhibition, Gardens of the Imagination, opening Thursday, December 5, from 6 to 8 PM during First Thursday. This beloved tradition launches a winter season full of creative exploration, growth, and connection, embodying the dynamic spirit of the Keys.

Known for her vibrant palette and tropical inspiration, Kaitlin’s work perfectly captures the essence of this year’s Gardens of Inspiration theme. Inside, you’ll find a comprehensive guide to the exciting season ahead, including upcoming classes, exhibitions, events, and performances—your roadmap to making the most of a creative winter in the Keys.

This year’s exhibition, running through December 22, transforms the entire Studios building—a landmark Art Deco gem at 533 Eaton Street—into a lush and imaginative landscape of artistic expression. Like the gardens we live with, each piece reflects a unique personality: wild or restrained, moody or joyful, carefully cultivated or delightfully spontaneous.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Steel Your Heart Pan Band, a talented group of young musicians led by Nora Revelin, will perform live at Hugh’s View during the opening reception. This stunning rooftop space offers unforgettable sunsets and provides the perfect backdrop for the lively, tropical rhythms of steel drum music.
